Welcome to this website completely devoted to the beauty of microbial fuel cells (MFCs) or more generally bio-electrochemical systems (BESs). This website is originating from a couple of the research groups which are currently active in the BES research domain. The website aims to provide news about BES, to give an overview of the state of the art of the MFC and BES technology, to list the involved research groups worldwide and can be a forum for BES related questions and answers. The website has now been seriously upgraded! The layout has been changed but also some new applications are now available. Moreover, now everyone can register to interact with the MFC community! |

We are pleased to announce the North American - International Society of Microbial Electrochemical Technologies [NA-ISMET] Meeting, which will take place from Monday, October 8th - Wednesday, October 10th, 2012 at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
This meeting serves to link together researchers and engineers who work on microbial electrochemical systems or on the interface between microbes and solid electrode materials. In addition, the meeting will dissipate new ideas in the fast emerging field of microbial electrochemical systems.

You are cordially invited to the 3rd International Microbial Fuel Cell Conference, which will be held from 6-8 June 2011 in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands.
