I am from the Philippines. Sludge from a coca cola plant is the main focus of our research. We want to minimize the sludge for invironmental reason. One way is to convert the wastewater (which the sludge came from) to something useful.
Will a wastewater from a plant lets say from a coca cola plant feasible for a microbial fuel cell?
My students are interested working on it as their research project.I've read a research on a brewing wastewater as a source of MFC.
Please help us know what are the possible bacteria so that we can check it if it is in the wastewater.
Thank you.

Hi,
I am a student from India.I have constructed a MFC with the bacteria Serratia marscescens. The electricity generation is quite good. After optimization the production in the voltage has increased. Has anyone done work on this? Please respond and help me in comparing my observations.
Thank you.

Hi,
In what order of magnitude does a H-configured MFC exhibit its internal resistance ?
My system shows mega ohms of internal resistance.
What are the least values ever reported on any type of configuration?
Thanks in advance...

Hi!
I m a researcher from Sri Lanka. I have construct a two chember batch type with a areated cathode MFC and use coconut water as a feed for MFC. this cell is still operating for 3rd month and the Open ciruit voltage is still increasing. Has anyone done such a experiment for coconut water? please help me to clarify observation... I ll be able to provide more info if required.
Thanx!

Hello all,
I am working on MFC & face some prob.i made 3 cell, which connected with salt bridge, and i used electrode from Dry cell battery, my used sludge, dye & glucose all are in same state with PH-7 in each bottle. My prob arised when i going to measure the volt, it shows different volt in diffrent bottle.Any one can help me for this.
Thanks

Hi all,
i am Harini from India n i am working on MFC's,
My current value is very much less to the theoritical value,eg.my voltage value is 250 mV,and my resistance is 100 ohms,so i must get a cueent value of 2.5 mA,but I am getting only 0.2 mA, is my work wrong? what should i do to raise my current output
Also, i need some informations abt the methods of maintaining anaerobic conditions in the anode of a microbial fuel cell.
will neural red, methylene blue contribute to maintaining anaerobic conditions in the MFC anode when added to it

Hi,
I have carbon paper like anode and one GDE like cathode. Before the utilization, can i do a treatment on my electrodes ? According several publications, a nafion 117 is bonding with nafion liquid on the GDE. And other publications use nafion 117 in a plexiglass holder between the anode and the cathode... Can you indicate to me what is the best solutions ?
Thank you

Do we have any idea what MFCs cost on a per-watt basis? I know that thin-film solar panels are approaching $1 per watt. I'm interested in the comparison. I understand that MFCs still have a long way to go.
