Has anyone successfully built small MFCs? Were stack configurations investigated?
Also what are the best materials for electrodes?
This would all be done under continous flow and with waste water.
Thanks

Hi,I am a student on MFC. I want to know how to decide the size of electrode and PEM in MFC and the chamber size? And what relations ?between the performance of MFC and the sizes of parameters?
Thanks!

Hello,
I am only 15 but I recently heard of MMFC's and BESs, and would like to know how far this technology can be used in day to day use. How efficencent and what energy yield percentages can we expect from from MFC's and how much if any pollution will it produce? As a energy source is it comparable to other alternative energy sources? And finally how soon can we expect to see these Prototypes such as the E. Coli MFC become a reality?
Thank you for your time.
Sam

What examples of scaled up microbial fuel cells are currently available? How big?
I am interested in using MFC's in a Brewery waste stream.

We read with interest of the new MFC pilot plant in Australia and was wondering whether anyone would be interested in implementing this type of plant in Italy, in a waste plant.
I'll be grateful for suggestions

Hi I'm Rachel, a freshmen at Falmouth Academy, in Falmouth, MA. For my almost 6-month science fair project this year I made a Microbial Fuel Cell with E. coli. I also used the voltages measured from the MFC to model the growth curve of E. coli. I am now writing my analysis section of my paper and was wondering if anyone else had made a MFC with E. coli so I could make a comparison with the amount of energy generated in my MFC (which was .44V at the largest).
Thanks!

How could this process be used in the Aviation industry? Would it be possible to convert human waste from airport restrooms into energy? What size space would be required to create the generation plant and storage facility?

Building a Two-Chamber Microbial Fuel Cell
(after
a tutorial presented by The Logan Group)
This webpage aims to help someone to build a microbial fuel cell (MFC) using
relatively inexpensive and readily available materials. The method is based
on the microbial fuel cells built by Abbie Groff, a student at Conestoga
Valley High School in Lancaster, PA. The research she performed with her
MFCs helped her win the Grand Champion Award at the 2005 Lancaster County
Science Fair. More information about her research can be found on her website.
