Good Afternoon Madams and Sir's. I'm John, an undergraduate student. I have red the study on Microbial Fuel Cells and I used it as one of my References for my undergrad Thesis.

I have constructed a two chambered MFC and tried to run it and record the voltage. Unfortunately, the digital multi meter gave me a negative reading w/c means that the phosphate buffer in the cathode chamber was the one that produced the electricity instead of the waste water in the anode.
I have constructed it properly and used the multi meter properly also as stated in the procedure that I got from the internet w/c I have attached with this massege . Please help advise me what to do for I need to finish it before the end of february.

Thank you!

Hi John, I am doing undergrad final year thesis on MFC. I initially made mistake on connection of multimeter that resulted reverse sign(check it out). KMnO4 also helps in cathode chamber.check the quality of waste water too.
by the way, which university are you from? good luck
